Today I took down the Emergency Referral and Assistance contact list that was posted in our office kitchen in 1987. No joke. 1987. It has been bothering me for a while, (read: been bothering me since the second day of work and first day that I entered the kitchen) but I thought maybe it was one of those things that always has to be posted legally. Except that I looked up a few of the numbers and was not surprised to discover that some had changed in the last 20 years. So today, while my sandwich was in the toaster oven, I checked that no one was coming and I tore down the sign. In case of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
