Creative Redirection

Pocket Susan is great and I've enjoyed sharing my viewpoint and two cents, but I'm going to have to make some adjustments for the future. As you can probably tell, it's been difficult to designate time for entries. So I will do my best to write in a more timely fashion. I will attempt to include advice that is interesting and pertinent, but that will be more sporadic. Most posts will probably be just about me. Not the most exciting topic perhaps, but I will do my best to add dramatic flare.

Harboring a Fugitive

It's been so unseasonably warm here the last few days that I've taken to opening up my windows in the evening to let in fresh air. Nico loves to sit on my bedroom window ledge and look out over the parking lot. I noticed that whenever anyone walks on the pathway along the front of the building he jumps down so that they don't see him. As soon as they're gone, he jumps back up to his little perch. I feel like he's hiding out. Do you think animals can sense when their owners don't pay the apartment pet deposit?

I'll Wouldn't Run 26 Miles Even If...

I don't have the dedication, self-discipline, and, quite frankly, the insanity level necessary to run a marathon. In order to cheer for the marathon runners I am getting up at 5:30am on a Sunday and I feel that that is a big enough sacrifice.

Three of my friends are running the Austin marathon tomorrow and since I've watched them train for months, listened to countless injury stories and running paranoia I think that it is important to go out and support them during the big event. They are running 26 miles. I will be right there on the sidelines with a hot coffee and camara to watch them go by.
