My friend Lindsay was in San Antonio from South Carolina for a conference last week so I drove down to see her. In addition to catching up, which was long overdue, we were able to celebrate passing the half-way mark for Lindsay's husband's deployment to Afghanistan. Lindsay, her wonderful mother Edith who was down from Waco, and I had drinks at the conference hotel and then headed down to the Riverwalk for dinner. The weather was gorgeous. The food was delicious. And the company couldn't be beat!

Bathroom Redo
The bathrooms in my office were redecorated this year. Apparently there were complaints about them looking "too institutional". So here are some pics from the bathroom... draw your own conclusions about the efforts to cozy them up.
Do you enjoy the giant dandelion stencil?
$1 million to the person who can come up with a valid explanation for the half shower curtain behind the full-length mirror.
They match the curtain and the fake flower vase, but what you may not be able to see is that both the tissue holder and the soap dispenser are empty. They just sit on top of the "institutional" paper towel dispenser/trash can (see below). Yeah, there is absolutely no purpose for these containers.
I will admit that I left that little container of lotion there. It was a gift and I didn't like the scent, but thought others might.
